To welcome the grand opening of the 2026 Taiwan Lantern Festival, the Chiayi County Culture and Tourism Bureau has released a brand-new promotional video under the theme “City of the Sun × People of Chiayi.” Through visual storytelling, the film interprets Chiayi’s unique charm and spirit, sincerely inviting visitors from Taiwan and around the world to step into this warm and radiant city and personally experience its rich cultural heritage and shining future.

The video takes the sun as its core imagery, symbolizing the resilience, perseverance, and passionate character of the people of Chiayi. Blending tradition with innovation, the production adopts a style of magical realism to interweave reality and dreams, portraying the vitality of sunlight and the people of Chiayi coexisting and thriving together. In the film, sunlight not only illuminates Chiayi’s mountains, rivers, and streets, but also reflects the deep affection and steadfast dedication that generations of Chiayi residents hold for their hometown, as if the entire city is nurtured by this radiant light.

The Culture and Tourism Bureau noted that the sun represents the spiritual symbol of Chiayi—it is the light that guides dreams and the light of the Lantern Festival that is about to be ignited. The video skillfully connects Chiayi’s natural landscapes, cultural history, and contemporary creativity, fully showcasing the city’s image as one that embodies both warmth and depth. With the official release of the video, Chiayi warmly invites domestic and international travelers to begin planning their visit in advance and to experience together the passion and charm of this “City of the Sun.”
